Years after choosing not to get back on the bus and return to Ukraine, I boarded a dilapidated Greyhound and rode across country to Boulder, Colorado. I was on my way to attend Naropa University – a college founded by a renowned Tibetan monk. The experience stretched my mind and my heart immeasurably. I moved from a life of go, go, go to allowing, receiving and asking for help.

What a reality flip-flop!

Fast forward to 2010: I walked away from my booming Raw Food consulting biz of three years to answer my calling to write a book and speak on the stage. (My love triangle with Ben and Jerry was officially busted when my Hot Monogamy Manifesto came on the scene!) It was at a seminar for speakers that year that I met bestselling author Gail McMeekin. She was impressed by the fact that I had taken bold risks in my personal life to become who I am today by starting over from scratch – multiple times!

She asked if she could feature me in her upcoming sequel, The Twelve Secrets of Highly Successful Women. I was hugely excited and honored – and of course, said Yes.

And here we are. One pivotal decision (to not get back on the bus) has led me on an adventure filled with public speaking, business creativity, passion, pure love – and now the glamour of being featured in the sequel to an empowering bestseller!

Have you ever turned onto the wrong street – a dark, quiet place you’ve never been – and brushed up against the unknown?

That unexplainable, exquisite spark from which all songs are sung, to you: Thank You! You are the compass inside of me. You brought me to this country, this unknown: coastal California.

Thank you to all those who walked these cliffs before me. Your song seeps into my skin when I swim near the Golden Gate bridge each Friday. And it doesn’t matter if you had skin of red, yellow or white, or who was established here first. We are all indigenous to this planet.

e ART h, Thank You for all that you are! I feel you in every stone and every leaf of every tree that you may have ever grown. I feel you – you, who dances as many faces of many men, great legends, peak orgasmic experiences that defy precise definition.

Thank You, plants and animals. You feed me, you shape me, you enliven me. Thank You, banks and airlines and Skype, for providing me access to my family in Ukraine…laughing, eating watermelon on the veranda, being free.

Thank You, husband. I feel your love like a pink calla lily, wet with the morning dew. You wipe away my false face. You open me up. You see me.

Thank You, words and stories, for you sing me electric. My reader, you – possible geographical longitudes away – you scan your Inbox, and through words we sync and connect. It evokes a sense of nudity, at times –  an occasional “Should I be reading this?”

Yes! Yes! Yes.

Thank You for reading. Thank you for embracing me into your world; for allowing me to whisper to your soul; for trusting me with your questions. Thank You for letting me be your guide to the next level.

You and I: supernovas, blazing through the cosmos. Intersecting. Dancing with humor. Licking pumpkin pie crumble from our fingers. All of it!

Have you ever had a dream that seemed too big to come true?

Gather round, friends. This is the story of a brave little gymnast, her leap of faith and one very, very effective dose of modern enchantment.

Once upon a time, in the former Soviet Union, there lived a wee, blonde Olga-child. She had been trained as a gymnast since the tender age of five, leaping on command and following every instruction. One night, she hid a note under her mattress that read ‘I will become a champion. I will live in America. I will speak English.’

In 1994, 14 year old Olga came to the U.S. on a tour before the Atlanta Olympics.

When it was time to return to the Soviet Union, she didn’t get back on the bus.

Making a life in America wasn’t easy. She worked hard to put herself through school but eventually she was notified that she’d be deported in three months if she didn’t get married and obtained a Green Card. How’s that for pressure?!

Olga decided to focus her Olympic-caliber concentration and precision into a Union Ceremony to meet her future husband. She took a leap of faith and that night, Arnold Schwarzenegger himself appeared  in her dream — waving and full of gap-toothed smiles. Obviously, this meant her future husband lived in California, right?!

Olga’s bus pulled into San Francisco’s Union Square at midnight, under a full moon.
And there, standing under a street lamp was the most gorgeous man Olga had ever seen.

And when he opened that gorgeous mouth, you know what came spilling out? The language of her home!

Olga grabbed this handsome Russian’s hands and they twirled together under the stars laughing like children. She told him ‘You are the reason why I didn’t get back on that bus.’ They spent that night together and haven’t been apart ever since.

Last week my family was harassed by a stalker –  threats, blackmail and hatred, the kind I have never experienced before. I was not prepared for it.

Especially since it came from a person who pretended to be a friend at first. (Boundaries!)

My friends jokingly call me ‘Peace & Love’ Olga as if uncompromising love is a symbol of naivety. I suppose the other option is to harden and grow a thick skin. I did that in the last decade. It only caused depression and loneliness. So my only real solution is to drink from the cup of deep courage. Courage to look fear in the eye and not harden.

I am glad I chose not to harden and instead feel my anger fully. It was more like rage. Rage for my family as well as for my fans and friends who are bullied. Especially if you are being bullied by your own fear (the most dangerous of stalkers).

My Jaguar Power officially unleashed to the public, I cherish the fact that you, my fans and friends, are my witness.

It fuels my courage. Keeps me accountable to the magnitude that I am.

Kauai is the wettest place on Earth. It’s my 30^th Birthday. And my husband and I track deeper into the lush jungle. The smashed guava fruit and sweet mangoes beneath our feet perfume the canyon. Dragonflies are making love to purple orchids. Sticky. Wet.

Destination: Hanakapiai waterfall, 1600 feet high. We can hear the roar from a mile away. But nothing could have prepared us to stand face to face with her magnitude and the deafening power. We are encapsulated and hypnotized by the perpendicular sheer rock walls all around us. This is a hidden place. It is sacred. Tired from six hours of hiking, red mud up to our knees, my man and I are happier than ever. All the trouble was more than worth it. Way more.

I kneel onto the sharp-edged rocks and offer my humble prayers to Hanakapiai – then dive into her pool of deep blue. Freezing. The breath leaves me like a swift hummingbird, searching for hidden treasures below. But as I get closer to the vortex of feisty white water hitting the pool at a seemingly 90 mph, my mind buckles “No, no, this untamed force will crash your skull. Stop. Go back. Now.”

Like a frightened donkey my legs go paralyzed. I maneuver around the giant column of raging water and climb onto the big slippery rocks behind it, against the cliff wall. Vladi joins me there. Together we begin to breathe rhythmically, hands clasped above the head in a prayer lock. In my mind I invite the untamed force of the waterfall to enter me like a lover.

Hanakapiai feels very feminine and unstoppable in her nature. Yet tender. She is the divine feminine that knows no fear. She has no shame or guilt for being the passionate power that she is. She roars into my heart “I am who I am”. She quivers in my belly “I am who I am”. She cries through my eyes “I am who I am’.

And I remember who I am.

Now I know I can do it. I know I have emptied myself of myself enough to become a proper receptacle for Hanakapiai and not be killed by her. So I scream on the top of my lungs. And LEAP into the waterfall.

I emerge on the other side of the white water veil. The jungle looks ten times greener and bigger than before (if that’s even possible). Every cell of my body is crazed with excitement, hands and fingers stiff, inner thighs trembling as if I am having an orgasm with a 1600 feet tall wild lover who is a woman and a man all at once. And as I look up, way up at Hanakapiai – everything stops. Like watching a movie in slow motion I can see the singular water drops fall frame by frame from the top of the cliff down into the foaming vortex below, slowly…very…sl..o.w..l…y.

Inhale. The tiny hummingbird returns back into my chest, bringing sweet golden nectar of wisdom from another world.  Instantly I know that I will write books, make movies, teach and take many others beyond the veil. And I am grateful to live with so much passion and to be of service as such.

The moral of the story: Life shatters us like the seed shatters the shell. Untamed happiness and joy can often feel scary. Because the ‘little me’ literally cracks open and undergoes a mini-death. An orgasm can be a type of mini-death. In that moment fear and contraction give way to a waterfall of pure goodness, pleasure and love.

This waterfall is far too great to hold down or control. Doing so will only lead to a build up of neurosis, illness, accidents, bankruptcy and general misery. Fear does not work. People always say ‘you have a choice between love and fear’. Over the years, having fought God and thus dragged myself through the self-made pits of the pits, I no longer have a choice. And I don’t fuck around. LOVE is my only option. I dive in.
